Franchise owners can have a lot of fun while running their businesses.
We are talking about fun things you are able to do because you own your place of work. Things that might never have crossed your mind or sound fun if you are an employee. Things that might make your desire to own a franchise stronger than it currently is. Let’s jump right in.
1. Opening a Door
This is something we all do every day. We open the door to our cars, houses, and all other places we go to every single day.
But opening the door to your personal business gives you a one-of-a-kind feeling. It’s an exciting and wonderful feeling. And it’s fun.
2. Getting Employees
Having many employees on your payroll might not seem like fun on the surface. But it can also be fun, depending on the way you see it. For instance, not having to do everything by yourself will surely feel nice, won’t it?
Plus, you can really have loads of fun with those working for you. You may organize contests for them, offering cash prizes to winners to encourage them to sell more or work harder. If you own a big, successful franchise business, you may go on team-building trips with your employees, which can be fun.
3. The Freedom to Go and Come in as You Like
If flexibility is one of the criteria you consider when selecting a franchise to buy, imagine the things you can do if you’re able to find a franchise that provides a lot of flexibility.
You could exit the workplace at noon to play golf balls at a driving range nearby.
You could decide to leave the establishment on a Thursday to go on a week-long getaway with your sweetheart
You could come to work in the middle of the day because you feel like it… because you own the business.
Would it be fun to have that type of flexibility as a franchise owner?
4. Local Networking
As an owner of a franchise or any kind of business, you need to do some old-school networking. Why? This is because you have to get your business’s message out and keep your business name (and what you specialize in) in the minds of the people.
To achieve this, you can become a member of a formal local business networking group, such as business networking international (or BNI). Organizations like Kiwanis and Rotary International also provide opportunities for local networking and are good options to consider. You’re going to have a lot of fun being an active member of these groups.
5. Bookkeeping & Accounting
Activities like bookkeeping and accounting can also be fun, depending on how you look at them.
We know that doing back office work (all the work that SME owners need to do to keep their business running smoothly) may not appear on your list of “fun things to do as a business owner.”
But,
Wouldn’t it be nice to know how much money your franchise raked in at the end of the day? Wouldn’t it be nice to know the amount of money you were able to keep?
Counting money can be fun, especially when the money belongs to you …not one boss somewhere.
Running a Franchise Business Can Be Fun
However, this does not mean that franchise ownership is all fun and games. On some days, you will have a lot of fun. On others, you won’t.
But one thing we can say is that becoming a business owner changes a lot of things. And you are going to have fun. We are sure of that.
